Loaded Week
This past week has been really crazy, but in the best way possible.
I’ve indeed been very busy, but I’ve also intentionally taken every effort to slow things down and make sure I insert a lot of quality time spent with people in the middle of all the things to get done.
It’s worked out really well, and I still feel pretty energized.
As my grading system gets smoother, this will also lighten up.
Thursday I made lunch with Chris, and we just had a nice, long conversation. I got to tell him about the important role he plays in my life, and I think he was glad to hear it. Afterwards, I went to go hang out with April since I haven’t seen her in a while, but I got Haley instead, so we talked for about an hour until I had work. My kiddo is getting a little better at writing, which is encouraging. After evening, I joined everyone in a tiny apartment for Mariana’s surprise party, which seems to be a recurring theme.
Yesterday I graded papers in the morning, and then had my two classes. In food and religion, we made an amazing Bedouin lamb dish, the recipe I’ll try to repost here from memory soon, just so I can always have it. Afterwards, I went to go hang out and chat, and then Tim came over. We talked for a bit, then Ryan showed up, followed by Jordan. The four of us hung out and watched Trigger Happy TV, and then we went to AGO for some random games.
Today I did yoga in the morning, followed by reading, dinner and a movie, and then Scott’s surprise party. I’m getting pretty good at surprising people. Also, at taking close up pictures of their beautiful faces.
I really, truly, am living a dream. It’s insane.
