I saw Extremely Loud and Incredibly Close tonight. I’ll hopefully write a more in-depth review tomorrow, but I liked it a lot. My expectations were on edge, considering how amazing of a book this had to live up to. They actually did quite well of maintaining fidelity to the book- some really recognizable lines popping up in dialogue and the feel being similar. And Thomas Horn played a good Oskar, something I didn’t think would come easy. And it was really emotional. I maybe got a little misty-eyed, and by Philippe standards, I think that would equate to a regular person bawling his or her eyes out.
