On this day in history…
I took my first steps in Argentina. I still can’t believe I lived there for like half a year. It feels very much like a dream.
It’s funny to think about life still going on over there. The 60 bus passing through Av. Luis Maria Campos and the empanadas still going for two pesos, and there still never being enough monedas for the whole city, and Mama Argentina still expecting her daughter to know all kinds of random stuff, and boliches still going from 2am to the early morning, and everyone still loving fernet and coke, and all the shopping up on Callao, and people still getting ready for the movies of BAFICI, and TeaConnection still having the best ambience in town, and the news still always being on at the carniceria next to the UB classrooms at Recoleta, and the submarinos still being served at Belgrano’s cafeteria, and the laundry still coming in neat plastic squares, and the library still being populated with mate circles.
It’s crazy thinking that for a little while, I was part of all that.
